    Sumba: The Hidden Paradise

I was lucky enough to finally visit this beautiful island of Sumba in East Nusa Tenggara. I was there for a rather short work trip. I spent 6 days there in the mid of October. So basically this post is not going to highlight incredible places in Sumba but rather sharing my personal story on how I see the beauty of Sumba during my limited time there. 𓇼 𓇼 𓇼 I remember it very vividly, I took a very early flight at 2 AM and went straight to the airport from the office. And as per usual, I could not…

Tumpak Sewu Waterfall: The Hidden Paradise

Tumpak Sewu Waterfall is located on the border between Malang and Lumajang and it takes approximately 2.5 hours from Malang to get there. Tumpak Sewu (also known as Coban Sewu) itself means thousands of waterfall. We started our journey from Malang at 06.30 and we got there at around 09.00. So yeah it took 2.5 hours to get there. Refugee Learning Center in Indonesia Sparks Hope

I lived in Cisarua, West Java and volunteered at Cisarua  Refugee Learning Centre for a couple of months as teaching assistant. I had such an amazing time there and the experience I had was tremendous and it truly is unforgettable. Indonesian people are not really familiar with the refugee issue. There are even some misconceptions about refugees. One of my friends did not even know that there are International refugees living in Indonesia. A refugee is someone who has been forced to flee his or her country due to fear of persecution, war, or violence. Indonesia has not ratified the Convention…

    Yogyakarta, 2017

My last trip to Yogyakarta felt like a dream — it was so surreal. I was so lost in the moment of feeling alive and it felt so good that I could not stop smiling. My heart felt at ease, and yes that’s true what most people say about traveling — it makes your heart feel so light that you forget all the trouble for a little while. Nothing feels more amazing than tasting the freedom and witnessing the beauty this world has to offer. I went to check out some cool places in Yogyakarta, most of them are quite…
